New Delhi: The fragrance of religious fervour and devotion of Ganesh Chaturthi is flowing across the Nation. The festival celebrations begin on Wednesday 27 August to last for 10 days.
During these 10 days Ganpati Bappa is established in every house and in large number of pandals where devotees worship the Lord with all their heart and soul. This festival bears special significance as on the first day Ganpati Bappa is established and on the last day the idol of Lord Ganesh is immersed.

This festival is celebrated from Chaturthi of Bhadrapada month to Anant Chaturdashi for 10 days. According to priests and astrologers Lord Ganesh is the destroyer of obstacles and the God of beginning. When He is installed on the Chaturthi of Bhadrapada month, it is widely believed that Ganpati resides in the house of devotees for these 10 days and provides happiness, prosperity and good fortune.
According to the Puranas Lord Ganesha was also born on Bhadrapada Shukla Chaturthi. So the beginning is from this day and the immersion is done on the 10th day, Anant Chaturdashi.
