Spiritual Importance of Bathing at Triveni Sangam
Prayagraj: In Hinduism, Prayagraj is called the king of pilgrimages. Devotees come here year-round to bathe and donate, but its significance increases manifold during the month of Magh. It is believed that bathing at the sacred Triveni Sangam of the Makarvahini Ganga, the Kurmavahini Yamuna, and the Hansvahini Saraswati during the month of Magh washes away all one's sins.
Goswami Tulsidas also described the glory of the month of Magh in his couplets. According to him, during the month of Magh, not only humans but also gods, eunuchs, and sages bathe at the confluence to attain virtue and salvation. During this period, Prayagraj is transformed into a divine realm.

According to Hindu belief, taking three dips at the confluence with devotion and faith removes all one's sins and sufferings. The Anushasan Parva of the religious text, the Mahabharata, elaborately describes the significance of the month of Magh. It states that during the month of Magh, 31 million pilgrims converge in Prayagraj. It is believed that deities, along with saints and sages, also arrive at the confluence.

During the Magh Mela, in Prayagraj, bathing is also of special significance. Religious scriptures state that donating cows, land, sesame seeds, gold, ghee, clothes, food, jaggery, silver, and salt during this period is highly virtuous. The tradition of performing Kalpavas on the banks of the Sangam during the month of Magh is also considered very important. A person who spends the entire month of Magha with discipline, discipline, and spiritual practice is spiritually rejuvenated.
