Jaipur: We all grew up watching the captivating performances of Sachin Tendulkar against world-class bowlers. No one could ever become like him, but the innings played by a 14-year-old boy, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, against the Gujarat Titans on a manic Monday have caused excitement in many teenage batters nationwide.
But the fans and even the experts reckon that he is too good for his age; he has to be nurtured properly. The batting coach of Rajasthan Royals described his prowess by stating, "What you witnessed against the Gujarat Titans had been witnessed by us in nets before this. We all knew what he was capable of."
Now, it's arduous to conjecture that a boy who smashes bowlers over the roof with such ease that a stellar player like Yashasvi Jaiswal gets overshadowed by him could be dreaded by something.
14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi played an innings of 101 runs off just 38 balls, hitting 11 sixes and 7 fours. He has also become the youngest player to score a century in the IPL. For this brilliant performance, Vaibhav was awarded the Player of the Match, making him the youngest recipient of this honor as well, reports Dynamite News correspondent.
"Scoring a century in the IPL is like a dream."
Vaibhav Suryavanshi said after the match, "It feels really good. This was my first century in my third IPL innings. The practice I’ve been doing for the last three or four months is showing results. I don’t pay much attention to the field; I just focus on the ball."
Regarding batting with Yashasvi Jaiswal, he added, "Batting with him gives me confidence because he is very positive and keeps guiding me, so it becomes effortless to bat with him. Scoring a century in the IPL is like a dream."
"Are you scared?"
When Vaibhav Suryavanshi was asked after the match, "Are you scared?" he replied, "No, there is nothing like that. I am not thinking about all this; I’m just focusing on playing."
Let us tell you that this 14-year-old batsman hit a six on his very first ball in the IPL.
