1374 fresh Covid cases in UP; 61 districts exempted from day curfew

The number of fresh Covid-19 cases in Uttar Pradesh continued to decrease, as on Tuesday the state reported 1374 new COVID-19 cases.

Lucknow: The number of fresh Covid-19 cases in Uttar Pradesh continued to decrease, as on Tuesday the state reported 1374 new COVID-19 cases.

In the last 24 hours, 5,626 people recovered and have been discharged.

The positivity rate remained at a low of 0.4 per cent while the fresh cases in a day has come down by 96.2 per cent compared the highest recorded of 38,055 cases on April 24 last.

The figures was shared by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday during his daily meeting with Team -9 members.

So far, over 16, 69,000 people have recovered from Covid in the state.

"With the policy of trace, test and treat for the prevention of Covid-19, the efforts being made to protect the life and livelihood of the people of the state are getting satisfactory results. 

Despite the aggressive testing policy, new cases are continuously decreasing, while the number of healthy people is increasing every day," the CM said.

He said on April 30 last month, there were about 3,10,783 corona patients in the state, whereas today with continuous efforts there are only 32,578 active cases. 

The active case decreased by 89.5 per cent in 5 weeks, while the recovery rate has been reduced to 96.9 per cent at present.

In view of the decreasing infection rate of corona, 61 districts with less than 600 active cases were exempted from day corona curfew from today.

According to the latest situation, the number of active cases in Lakhimpur Kheri, Jaunpur and Ghazipur districts have been reduced to less than 600. 

In such a situation, now these districts will also be exempted from corona curfew for five days a week from 07 am to 07 pm. 

All other Covid- related rules will be applicable in these districts. 

At present, corona curfew is in effective in 11 districts including Lucknow, Ghaziabad, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Gorakhpur and Varanasi

The CM made it clear that the rules related to corona curfew should be strictly followed. 

Police and local administration should become active from 6 pm onwards to make the night curfew effective. 

Use the public address system. There should not be crowd anywhere.

According to the policy of aggressive testing, 3,23,795 tests were conducted in the state in the last 24 hours. 

During this period, in all districts fresh cases were in single or double digit. 

So far 4,97,33,141 Covid tests have been done in UP.

Yogi Adityanath said UP ranks first in providing COVID protection cover to people above 45 years and in the age group of 18-44. 

Till now, 1,82 ,32 326 Covid vaccines have been given.(UNI)
