Dhoni reaches 10,000 runs milestone for India, becomes 5th Indian
Former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni added another feather to his cap as he completed 10,000 One Day International (ODI) runs for India during the first ODI match against Australia of the three-match series here at Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) on Saturday.

MS Dhoni became the fifth Indian batsman after legendary Sachin Tendulkar, former captain Sourav Ganguly, present India Under-19 Head Coach Rahul Dravid and skipper Virat Kohli to score 10,000 ODI runs for India.
The 2011 World Cup-winning team captain, who came at crease at number four, was on 9,999 runs when he came in to bat.
Dhoni brought up his 10,000th ODI run with a single off Jhye Richardson. He has been playing his 333rd ODIs for the country. He reached the landmark with an average of 49.75. So far, he scored nine hundreds and 67 half-centuries for India.
He, however, has a total of 10,173 runs in the format, having played for the Asia XI side in a three-match series way back in 2007.
Overall, he has become the 12th player in ODI history to reach the 10,000-run mark.
Cricket icon Tendulkar was the first to reach the 10,000 figure mark in 259 innings, with Virat Kohli now holding that record in 205 innings. (PTI)
