Former finance minister and senior BJP Leader Arun Jaitley passed away at All India Institute of Medical Sciences. Here are few unkown facts about the veteran leader:

Arun Jaitley was president of Student Union in Delhi University. During emergency he went to jail and met many BJP leaders who liked his opinion and oratory skills.

Jaitley was appointed as the Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting for the first time soon after the then Atal Bihari Vajpayee government came to power and also the Minister of State for Disinvestment (Independent Charge). He led India in talks at WTO (World Trade Organization) and increased greater access towards emerging markets.

Arun Jaitley proved his worth very well. He became chief strategist of BJP after death of Pramod Mahajan and Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s retirement. He became the voice of BJP in Rajya Sabha and in 2009 he became Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha.
