New Delhi: Microsoft has announced strategic collaborations with four of India’s largest IT services companies: Cognizant, Infosys, Tata Consultancy Services, and Wipro. The partnerships aim to help these firms adopt Copilot-powered agentic AI workflows, both for internal use and client projects. This initiative comes shortly after Microsoft committed $17.5 billion to expand AI capabilities, demonstrating the company’s commitment to accelerating AI adoption globally.

The focus of these collaborations is to equip Indian IT firms with the tools and infrastructure needed to build, scale, and operationalise AI-driven solutions at unprecedented speed.

Deployment of Copilot Licenses Across IT Firms

Under the partnerships, each company will deploy more than 50,000 Microsoft Copilot licenses, with a combined total exceeding 2,00,000 licenses. These AI tools will be integrated into internal workflows and offered as part of AI solutions for clients. Microsoft described Cognizant as “client zero” for Copilot, highlighting the company’s role in testing and refining AI-driven agentic solutions before a broader rollout.

Cognizant will leverage these AI tools to streamline data access and decision-making processes across internal operations and client engagements. According to Ravi Kumar S, CEO of Cognizant, “Our mission is to bridge the gap between AI investments and business value, ensuring that both associates and clients benefit from generative AI capabilities.”
