New Delhi: YouTube is introducing a new and unique AI-powered upscaling tool called Super Resolution. This feature will allow any old or low-quality video to be transformed into high quality.

Whether the video is very old or was originally uploaded in 480p or lower resolution, it will now appear sharper and more detailed. Creators will have the option to use this feature or opt out.

How will the feature work?

Thanks to advancements in AI technology, it is now possible to enhance the quality of videos and images by recognizing their patterns. A special model has been developed for this purpose, which uses a pattern recognition algorithm.

This model identifies and improves the details of the video. In this process, the blurriness, low resolution, or lack of detail present in older videos will be corrected, giving the user an experience of watching videos in near HD or even better quality.

All videos will be upscaled

After the introduction of this feature, all old videos on YouTube will be upscaled. The biggest benefit of this will be for users with large screens, such as smart TVs or projectors.

Users will also be able to see which videos have been upscaled, and if they wish, they can also view the video in its original resolution. Currently, this feature is being rolled out to videos with a resolution lower than 1080p.

In the future, YouTube will also offer the option to upscale HD videos.

New rules on gambling and gaming content

YouTube is now implementing new rules on content related to gambling and violent gaming. From November 17, gambling videos associated with NFTs or digital goods will be restricted.

Additionally, age restrictions will be applied to videos featuring casino-style or violent gaming. The aim is to make the content on the platform safer and more compliant with regulations.
