Azamgarh: Addressing a public meeting in Azamgarh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reacted strongly to the issue of alleged objectionable remarks made against Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav's daughter. He stated that as soon as the matter came to his notice, he immediately instructed the police to register an FIR.
CM Yogi remarked that derogatory comments against any daughter cannot be accepted because "a daughter is a daughter," and her dignity in society is paramount.
In his address, Chief Minister Yogi emphasized that the respect accorded to daughters in society is of utmost importance. He asserted that regardless of political ideology, the use of inappropriate language or remarks against any daughter would not be tolerated. He added that law and order is a top priority for his government and ensuring the safety of every individual is the state's responsibility.
CM Yogi also highlighted the state government's schemes during his speech. He noted that the government has implemented various schemes for the education and marriage of daughters, providing direct benefits to women. Targeting the opposition, he remarked that prior to 2017, development work in the state proceeded at a sluggish pace; projects involving expressways, universities, nursing colleges, and other infrastructure were either incomplete or had not even commenced.
The Chief Minister stated that connectivity in the state has improved significantly today. Journeys from Gorakhpur to Varanasi and Lucknow now take much less time than before. He claimed that the government's objective is to integrate every region—whether rural or urban—into the mainstream of development.
CM Yogi clearly stated that the government is ensuring the safety of every poor person, every woman, and every trader. He warned that if anyone encroaches upon the land of the poor, compromises the safety of a daughter, or harasses traders, the government will take strict action. He affirmed that the law applies equally to everyone and that no form of lawlessness would be tolerated.
