Gorakhpur: A gas explosion took place at the Paras Milk Factory in Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority (GIDA) Sector-13, Gorakhpur, on Wednesday evening at around 4 pm.
The explosion was so severe that panic spread in the surrounding areas and there was chaos. Seven workers were seriously burnt in this horrific accident, and the condition of Umar Farooq is critical, reports Dynamite News correspondent.
All the injured in the accident were immediately rushed to Piprauli Community Health Center (CHC), where doctors are trying to save their lives.
According to eyewitnesses, the sound of the explosion was heard several kilometers away and smoke and flames were visible from a distance in the factory premises.
As soon as the information was received, teams of local police, administration and fire department reached the spot and started controlling the situation.
Initial investigation has revealed that there was serious negligence of safety standards in the factory, due to which this accident happened. The administration has ordered a thorough investigation of the matter and assured strict action against the culprits.
