Lucknow: In a significant administrative move, the Uttar Pradesh Police Headquarters has issued transfer and posting orders for several senior officers, including Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) and Additional Director General (ADG) rank officers, citing public interest and operational requirements.

The order, issued by the Director General of Police (DGP), Uttar Pradesh, lists the transfer of 13 senior officers (ADG/IG rank) and 2 Additional SPs across the state.

Transfers of ADG-Level Officers (13 Officers)

In a separate but related order issued on the same day (July 31, 2025), the Uttar Pradesh Police Headquarters announced the transfer of 13 ADG/IG-rank officers, citing public interest and administrative needs. These changes are also to be implemented with immediate effect.

Transfers of ASP-Level Officers

  1. Rahul Mishra, presently posted as Additional Superintendent of Police at the Police Headquarters (IG Headquarters, Lucknow), has been transferred and posted as Additional Superintendent of Police (Traffic), Deoria.
  2. Arvind Kumar Verma, who was serving as Additional SP (Traffic), Deoria, has been reassigned as Additional SP at the Office of IG (Local), Police Headquarters, Lucknow.

These officers have been directed to assume their new charges immediately without waiting for formal relief from their previous postings. All departmental heads and concerned officials have been asked to send joining confirmation via email or fax to the headquarters as soon as the officers take charge.

Instructions Issued to Departments

The communication has emphasized that the selected officers must join their new postings without delay. It further instructs all administrative units to:

  • Ensure that the officers take charge today itself, and
  • Immediately communicate the status of charge-assumption via e-mail/fax to the Police Headquarters, including the Chief Office.

The document was signed by Prashant Kumar, ADG (Administration), Uttar Pradesh, and distributed to key departments, including

  • DGP Headquarters
  • Police Recruitment Board

Each officer’s current posting, designation, and their new assignments have been clearly outlined in the transfer list. These orders are effective from July 31, 2025, and compliance is expected on the same day.
