Kushinagar: A review meeting on development schemes, construction works, and law and order was held at the Collectorate auditorium under the chairmanship of Minister In-Charge Dinesh Pratap Singh, Uttar Pradesh Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Horticulture, Agricultural Marketing, Agricultural Foreign Trade, and Agricultural Exports.
Reviewed progress of departments
The minister reviewed the progress of departments including horticulture, agriculture, rural engineering, health, housing schemes (urban and rural), electricity, industry, MNREGA, revenue cases, and law and order.
Incomplete PMGSY data draws minister’s ire
Expressing dissatisfaction over incomplete information on PMGSY road maintenance, the minister directed officials to prepare a district-wide list of all PMGSY roads, especially those over five years old, and share it with public representatives for repair proposals.
He instructed all officers to maintain regular contact with elected representatives and ensure better coordination to achieve targets under welfare schemes. During the MNREGA review, officials informed that 1.83 lakh job cards are active, with 1.27 lakh workers provided employment.
Minister orders action on encroachments
Taking a serious view of illegal encroachments and public complaints, the minister directed the District Magistrate to issue necessary orders. He also asked the Health Department to take strict action against doctors found absent during inspections, stating that salary cuts alone were insufficient.
District Magistrate Mahendra Singh Tanwar informed that Rs 50 lakh is being arranged for the construction of a Musahar colony, while Rs 2 crore is being spent to upgrade facilities at the medical college post-mortem house.
