New Delhi: Protesters at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar said their agitation would continue until Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigns, even as representatives of the Cockroach Janta Party held a second high-level meeting with the Centre on Friday.
CJP spokespersons Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das met Union Ministers JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh amid the ongoing student protests in the national capital.
After the meeting, Ranka told the media that the government had agreed “in principle” to two of the protesters’ demands. He added that the Centre had sought time until Saturday to respond to the demand for Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation.

Despite the talks, protesters speaking to Dynamite News at Jantar Mantar said they would not withdraw the movement until the Education Minister stepped down.
One protester said the agitation would end only after Pradhan’s resignation, alleging that the government had failed to safeguard the interests and future of the country’s youth.
“The protest will move towards an end only when Dharmendra Pradhan resigns. The youth are the backbone and future of the country. If their future is ignored, protests like this will continue, and the government will have to bow before the people’s demands,” the protester said.
The protester also criticised the state of India’s education system and argued that the country should aspire to compete with nations such as China, Japan and the United States.

He accused political leaders of focusing on their own interests instead of improving education and creating better opportunities for young people.
The protester further alleged that attempts were being made to disturb the demonstration. He maintained that the agitation had remained peaceful and said protesters would not leave Jantar Mantar without securing Pradhan’s resignation.
Another protester, who identified herself as a mother, expressed concern about the future of her children and accused the government of avoiding accountability over examination irregularities and alleged paper leaks.
“My children are young. Their future is at risk. What answer will I give them? The government must take accountability and explain why paper leaks happened and why so many students were forced to suffer,” she told Dynamite News.
She said the demonstrators were exercising their democratic and constitutional rights and would continue demanding answers from the government.
“What should we teach our children about democracy and civics when the education system itself appears hollow? Students are crying and their parents are suffering. The movement will continue until the minister resigns,” she said.
The protesters raised slogans demanding Pradhan’s resignation and said more parents, particularly mothers, would join the agitation in the coming days. The woman protester said she would continue participating in the movement for the sake of her children and urged other parents to support the agitation.
Security was strengthened around Jantar Mantar, with additional police and paramilitary personnel deployed near the protest site. Asked whether they feared another possible police crackdown or lathi-charge, the protesters said they would not be intimidated.
“If we become scared of a lathi-charge today, what answer will we give our children tomorrow? We will continue to fight until our demand is accepted,” one of the protesters said.
