Mercedes-Maybach S-Class Facelift Coming to India: New Features That Raise the Luxury Bar

Mercedes-Benz India is ready to launch the 2026 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class facelift on October 5. The luxury sedan gets a larger grille, illuminated Maybach details, upgraded cabin technology, enhanced rear-seat comfort and new personalisation options.

Mumbai, September 24: Mercedes-Benz India is preparing to launch the facelifted 2026 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class in the country on October 5, 2026. The ultra-luxury sedan, which made its global debut earlier this year, is expected to arrive in India with updated styling, advanced technology features and improved rear-seat comfort. The latest Maybach S-Class facelift builds on the luxury brand’s flagship sedan and brings several upgrades inspired by the refreshed standard S-Class, while adding exclusive Maybach-specific design elements.

Bigger Grille, Illuminated Maybach Details Add Road Presence

The updated Mercedes-Maybach S-Class continues with its signature vertical-slat grille, but the design has been enhanced with a larger appearance and LED illumination.

The sedan now features an illuminated Mercedes emblem on the bonnet along with a glowing Maybach wordmark above the grille. The lower air intakes receive a new mesh pattern featuring tiny Maybach logos, adding a more distinctive luxury touch.

The facelift model also gets redesigned headlights with three-pointed star daytime running lights and updated tail-lamps featuring a star-inspired LED pattern. The Maybach logo on the D-pillar now comes with illumination, further highlighting its premium identity.

Cabin Gets Superscreen Layout and More Customisation Options

Inside the cabin, the 2026 Maybach S-Class adopts the advanced Superscreen setup from the S-Class range. The layout includes a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14.4-inch central touchscreen and a separate 12.3-inch passenger display. A new electrical and electronic architecture with high-performance computers supports the vehicle’s infotainment, safety features and driving systems. Mercedes-Benz has also expanded personalisation options through its Manufaktur programme, offering more exterior shades, two-tone paint combinations and additional leather upholstery choices. For the first time, Maybach customers will also get a leather-free vegan upholstery option with a unique design theme.

Rear Seat Comfort Gets Major Focus

The Maybach S-Class continues to focus heavily on rear passenger luxury. The rear seats now recline up to 43 degrees and come with heating, ventilation and massage functions. Replacing the previous tablet controller, the updated model gets two individual smartphone-style remotes that allow passengers to control multiple vehicle functions.

Powerful Engine Options Expected for India

Globally, the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class facelift is available with multiple petrol and plug-in hybrid powertrain options. The S 580 features an upgraded 4.0-litre V8 engine producing 537 hp and 750 Nm of torque. Some international markets also receive the S 580e plug-in hybrid variant with a combined output of 585 hp.

For India, the S 580 is expected to remain the likely choice. Depending on the final variant strategy, Mercedes-Benz could also introduce a higher-powered version.

The current Mercedes-Maybach S 580 is priced at Rs 2.87 crore (ex-showroom), before optional customisation packages.
