New Delhi: When it comes to the compact SUV segment in India, the names of Tata Nexon and Maruti Suzuki Brezza come first. Both the vehicles come in the budget of Rs 10 lakh and are quite popular among the customers due to their respective features. While Tata Nexon is liked for its safety, strong body, and design, Brezza is appreciated for its excellent mileage and hybrid and CNG options.

Price and variants

The ex-showroom price of Tata Nexon starts from ₹ 7.99 lakh and goes up to ₹ 15.60 lakh, while the price of Maruti Brezza starts from ₹ 8.69 lakh and goes up to ₹ 16.26 lakh. Nexon is slightly cheaper in terms of price, but Brezza gets the advantage of hybrid and CNG versions, making it more flexible in terms of options.

Safety Features

In terms of safety, Tata Nexon has received a 5-star rating by Global NCAP, making it the safest SUV in the segment. On the other hand, Maruti Brezza has received a 4-star rating, but now the company has made 6 airbags standard in all its variants, which has further improved its safety.

Engine and Performance

Tata Nexon gets a 1.2-liter turbo petrol engine, which gives 88.2 PS of power and 170 Nm of torque. It is available in petrol, diesel, and now CNG versions as well. At the same time, Maruti Brezza has a K15C dual-jet petrol engine, which works in both hybrid and CNG. In CNG mode, it generates 87.8 PS of power.

Mileage Comparison

Maruti Brezza is ahead of Tata Nexon in this case. The CNG version of Brezza gives a mileage of up to 25.51 km/kg, while the Nexon's mileage in the petrol version ranges between 17 and 24 kmpl. So if a person gives priority to fuel economy, then Brezza can prove to be better for him.

Boot space

Talking about boot space, Tata Nexon has 382 liters of space, while Brezza has 328 liters. This means that Nexon gives more space for long trips or carrying more luggage.
