Patna: The Election Commission has formally announced the dates of Bihar Assembly elections This time, polling will be held in two phases in 243 assembly seats in the state. The first phase of voting will be held on 6 November and the second phase on 11 November, while all seats will be counted on 14 November.

Phase I: Voting In 121 Seats On November

In the first phase, polling will be held in 121 assembly seats in 18 districts.

  • Gazette Notification: 10 October
  • Deadline for nominations: 17 October
  • Enrollment Check: 18 October
  • Deadline for withdrawal of names: 20 October
  • Voting date: 6 November
  • Counting: 14 November

The districts include: Gopalganj, Siwan, Buxar, Saran, Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga, Saharsa, Madhepura, Khagaria, Munger, Lakhisarai, Sheikhpura, Nalanda, Patna, Vaishali, Samastipur, Begusarai, Bhojpur.

Phase 2: Polls In 122 Seats On 11 November

In the second phase, voting will be held in 122 seats in 20 districts.

  • Deadline for nominations: 20 October
  • Enrollment Check: 21 October
  • Deadline for withdrawal of names: 23 October
  • Voting date: 11 November
  • Counting: 14 November

Election Process Completed: 16 November

The districts included: West Champaran, East Champaran, Shivhar, Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj, Purnia, Katihar, Bhagalpur, Banka, Jamui, Nawada, Gaya, Jehanabad, Arwal, Aurangabad, Rohtas, Kaimur.

The Election Commission has assured that the elections will be conducted in a fair, peaceful and transparent manner. The Model Code of Conduct has been implemented, which all political parties must strictly adhere to.

90,712 Polling Stations Will Be Set Up

This time, 90,712 polling stations will be set up in the state. Each center will have an average of 818 voters. This system will make the election process smooth and orderly.
