Patna: In the first phase of the Bihar Assembly elections, elaborate security arrangements have been made for voting in 121 constituencies across 18 districts. Armed forces have been deployed at all polling stations.
Approximately 450,000 security personnel have been deployed for election work, including 1,500 companies of central forces. Additionally, the Bihar Police, Bihar Special Armed Police, SSB, and Home Guards have also been deployed.
In view of the elections, the borders of all districts, including Nepal, have been sealed. A mounted force has been deployed in the Diara region.
60,000 Bihar Police personnel also deployed for election duty
In addition to the central forces, 60,000 Bihar Police personnel have also been deployed for election duty. Additionally, approximately 2,000 personnel from reserve battalions from other states, 30,000 personnel from the Bihar Special Armed Police, over 20,000 Home Guards, and approximately 19,000 trainee constables have also been deployed for election work. Approximately 1.5 lakh watchmen have also been deployed for election duty in rural areas.
Strong security arrangements have been made for the security of VIPs during the assembly elections. A VIP security pool has been created in each district.
Police personnel and personnel trained by the National Security Guard (NSG) have been included in this pool. Bihar Police has also formed a Quick Response Team (QRT) to deal with emergencies during the elections.

This team will work to deal with any emergencies, security breaches, or other serious incidents during the elections. This team includes commandos from the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) and Special Task Force (STF).
Increased surveillance on the border with Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, and Jharkhand
Police administrations are also on alert along the border with neighboring states West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, and Jharkhand due to the assembly elections.

Lists of anti-social elements and criminals are being exchanged with neighboring states to make arrests, mark checkpoints and blockades, and strictly monitor the illegal movement of liquor and cash.
Left-wing extremists are being monitored especially closely along the border with neighboring Jharkhand. Instructions have been given to maintain extra vigilance along the Jharkhand border and monitor every activity through checkpoints.
