Bihar: Four tourists found dead in Rajgir dharamshala; Tension grips the entire area

All four were followers of Jainism and had come to Rajgir on January 31st on a religious pilgrimage. According to the guesthouse records, they were seen on the premises until February 2nd, after which the room remained locked.

Patna: Panic spread in the Digambar Jain Dharamshala in Rajgir in Nalanda on Friday when police arrived after receiving reports of a strong foul odor emanating from a room. Room number 6AB was locked from the inside. Upon opening the door, the scene was shocking-four bodies were found hanging.

The deceased include two men and two women. Initially, all deaths are being treated as suspicious.

Arrived on 31 January, Not Seen After 2nd February
According to information, all four were followers of Jainism and had come to Rajgir on January 31st on a religious pilgrimage. According to the guesthouse records, they were seen on the premises until February 2nd, after which the room remained locked.

The guesthouse management informed the police after the door remained closed for a long time and a foul odor became noticeable.

Residents of Bengaluru, Identification Process Underway
Guesthouse in-charge Mukesh Jain said that the four tourists had mentioned visiting Nepal before coming to Rajgir. One person had provided an Aadhaar card with the name GR Nag Prasad and an address in Bengaluru.

Identity documents for the other three were not found. Police are investigating the complete identities and family backgrounds of the deceased.

Room Sealed, Forensic Team Investigating
Given the seriousness of the incident, the police and administration immediately sealed the room. The DSP of Rajgir, the station house officer, and a large police force are present at the scene.

A Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team has been called in to collect evidence. A ​​thorough investigation is being conducted into the evidence found in the room, the condition of the nooses, and other technical aspects.

Murder or Mass Suicide? Investigation from Every Angle
Police are investigating from every possible angle-suicide, interpersonal conflict, mental stress, or any other conspiracy. Evidence of struggle inside the room, mobile call details, CCTV footage, and information about people they contacted during their journey are being collected. Currently, the police have not reached any conclusion.

Station House Officer Raman Kumar Singh said that the exact cause of death will be revealed only after the post-mortem report is received. The report will also clarify the time of death and whether all the deaths occurred at the same time. Until then, the police are proceeding with the investigation cautiously.

Panic in the area, many questions remain
After the incident, there is an atmosphere of fear in Dharamshala and the surrounding area. The simultaneous deaths of four devotees have raised many questions - how was the room locked from the inside, why did no one notice anything for so many days, and how did this mystery unfold in the peaceful religious town of Rajgir?
