

Once again a big administrative change has been witnessed in the Uttar Pradesh Police Department. The government has transferred officers on a large scale.
Major IPS reshuffle in Uttar Pradesh
Lucknow: A round of transfers is currently underway in the Uttar Pradesh Police Department. This time, there have been large-scale transfers within the department. The government has reassigned the jurisdictions of many officers. A total of 28 IPS officers have been transferred across the state.
Rajiv Sabharwal has been given additional charge of Director General of Police, Training and Modernization, Uttar Pradesh along with Director General of Police/Additional Director General of Police, Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Police Academy, Moradabad.
A. Satish Ganesh (IPS-1996) has been given the responsibility of Additional Director General of Police, Traffic and Road Safety. K Satyanarayan (IPS-1998) has been appointed Additional Director General of Police, Law and Administration, Lucknow.
Alok Kumar Srivastava (IPS-2003) has been sent to Special Investigation Cell, Lucknow while Vijay Singh Meena (IPS-2005) has been made Director General of Police, Women and Child Protection Organization, Lucknow.
The purpose of this reshuffle is said to be to strengthen law and order in the state and make the administrative system more effective. The government says that improvement in policing is expected from the experience of senior officers and the energy of new officers.
According to the order issued by the Home Department, these transfers have been implemented with immediate effect.
