Lucknow: In a significant development, authorities in Uttar Pradesh have ordered the transfer of 266 judges across multiple districts, marking one of the largest reshuffles in the state’s judicial system in recent times. The official list detailing all transfers has now been released.
The reshuffle affects courts in a wide range of districts, including Agra, Aligarh, Azamgarh, Bareilly, Gorakhpur, Kanpur, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Prayagraj, Lucknow and many more.
According to sources, the transfers span key judicial postings in districts such as Baghpat, Bahraich, Banda, Barabanki, Bijnor, Bulandshahr, Chitrakoot, Deoria, Etawah, Fatehpur, Firozabad, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Gonda, Hamirpur, Hathras, Hapur, Jaunpur, Jhansi, Kannauj, Kaushambi, Kushinagar, Lakhimpur Kheri, Mainpuri, Muzaffarnagar, Moradabad, Pilibhit, Pratapgarh, Raebareli, Rampur, Saharanpur, and Unnao.
This large-scale transfer is being viewed as a major administrative move aimed at streamlining judicial functioning across the state. Officials indicate that such reshuffles are periodically carried out to maintain efficiency, transparency, and balance within the judicial system.
The full list includes the names and new postings of all 266 judges, signaling a sweeping change in the judicial landscape of Uttar Pradesh.
