In the December end the Departmental Promotion Committee will meet to finalise these decisions. The meeting will be chaired by the Chief Secretary, with the Principal Secretary (Home) in attendance.
UP to promote 61 IPS Officers
Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government is set to promote as many as 61 IPS officers including six who will bw elevated from ADG to DG rank in the coming year.
Six officers currently serving at the ADG level are expected to move up in phases.
From ADG To DG
The 1994-batch GRP ADG Prakash D will take charge as DG on March 1, following the retirement of DG Sandeep Salunke. ADG (Rules & Manual) LV Antony Dev Kumar will be promoted after the retirement of DG Home Guards MK Bashal. ADG Power Corporation Jai Narayan Singh will take charge as DG in February replacing Dipesh Juneja. Kanpur Zone ADG Alok Singh and Gorakhpur Zone ADG Mutha Ashok Jain are also to be promoted in May and June.
At the ADG level, three 2001-batch officers are set to be promoted. They are Lucknow Range IG Tarun Gaba, Ayodhya Range IG Praveen Kumar, and Kanpur Commissionerate Joint CP Ashutosh Kumar.
From SP To DIG
As many as 15 officers of the 2012 batch will be promoted from SP to DIG, including the Police Chiefs of Saharanpur, Meerut, Lakhimpur Kheri, Pilibhit, Mirzapur and Gorakhpur. Two officers currently on central deputation—Sujata Singh and Salman Taj Patil—will receive proforma promotions.
From SP To SSP
At the same time another 32 officers of the 2013 batch are expected to move from SP to Senior Superintendent of Police rank.
