US President Donald Trump and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi have personally talked about taking steps in this direction. Both leaders have instructed their officials to finalize a successful trade agreement as soon as possible.
There is a strong possibility that an Indian trade delegation will visit the US next week to discuss trade barriers between the two countries. This delegation will hold talks with the US on various issues so that a balanced and 'win-win' trade agreement can be possible.

After a high-level conversation on social media on September 6, US President Donald Trump announced that the US and India are in talks to remove trade obstacles. President Trump's statement clearly indicates that the negative voices coming from Washington are of little consequence. The US president himself is showing keen interest in getting the deal back on track. Similarly, Prime Minister Modi has also instructed his officials to expedite the trade talks.

Apart from the trade deal, another US delegation will visit India on September 17-18 to discuss the prices of six P8I anti-submarine aircraft worth about $3 billion. Apart from this, this month India and the US will sign an agreement for the purchase of 113 GE-404 engines, which will be used in the Tejas Mark-1A fighter jets.
