New Delhi: Delhi was shaken once again by a powerful blast near the Red Fort Metro Station on Monday evening. Around 6:55 PM, panic spread as people scrambled to save themselves. Initially, some witnesses suspected a cylinder explosion, but soon it became evident that it was a major blast. Authorities are yet to confirm whether this was a terrorist attack or a deliberate act by miscreants. Delhi Police and central investigation agencies are on the scene, conducting a thorough probe. 1. Location and Time of the Blast

The explosion occurred near Gate No. 1 of the Red Fort Metro Station, where a car suddenly erupted in flames. The blast caused nearby vehicles to catch fire as well. According to Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golcha, the car was moving slowly and stopped at a red light around 6:52 PM when it suddenly exploded. The fire quickly spread to three to four nearby vehicles, causing extensive damage. Emergency services rushed to the scene immediately.

2. Casualties and Injuries

So far, 10 people have been confirmed dead, and 24 others have sustained injuries. The injured were admitted to Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Hospital for treatment. The explosion was so powerful that surrounding streetlights were damaged. Authorities have been questioning those with minor injuries to gather information about the incident and trace possible leads.

3. High Alert in Delhi

In response to the blast, Delhi has been placed on high alert. Police and fire brigade teams reached the site promptly to manage the situation.
