Baramulla: Authorities in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district have launched a major anti-encroachment operation, reclaiming several kanals of prime State land allegedly under unauthorized occupation.
The recovered land is located in a prime area and is estimated to be worth crores of rupees. The administration said the action was part of its continuing drive to protect government property and prevent valuable State land from being illegally occupied or misused.
During the operation, the concerned authorities removed unauthorized occupation and illegal structures from the identified land. Following the eviction, the property was brought back under government control. Officials said the action was aimed at ensuring that public land remains protected from unauthorized use and encroachment.
According to the details provided by the administration, Sajad Ahmad Buhroo, Tariq Ahmad Buhroo, Tabasum Guroo, Manzoor Ahmad Buhroo and others were among those identified in connection with the alleged encroachment. The allegations and identification of individuals remain subject to the applicable legal process and official proceedings.
The latest operation is part of the administration’s broader efforts to identify and reclaim government land across Baramulla district. Officials have reiterated that strict action will be taken against anyone found occupying State land illegally. Authorities have also indicated that similar anti-encroachment operations will continue in different parts of the district.
The administration has stressed that valuable government land cannot be allowed to remain under unauthorized occupation. Recovery drive is aimed at strengthening protection of public assets and ensuring that state land is used in accordance with applicable rules and regulations.
Authorities have warned that further action will be taken against illegal encroachments as part of the ongoing campaign to safeguard government property across Baramulla.
