New Delhi: Popular educator and YouTuber Khan Sir has secured temporary relief from arrest after a Patna district court stayed coercive action against him in connection with a firing incident at his coaching institute earlier this month.

Court Grants Interim Relief

Faisal Khan, widely known as Khan Sir, approached the Patna civil court seeking anticipatory bail after his name appeared in a First Information Report (FIR) related to violence at the Khan Global Studies Institute on June 2. The court's decision to stay his arrest comes as investigations into the incident continue.

His legal team argued before the court that the case against him was part of an attempt to damage his reputation and falsely implicate him in the controversy.

Violence at Coaching Institute

The case stems from an incident in which a group of around 15 to 20 individuals allegedly vandalised the coaching centre premises. According to police, the group damaged property, removed posters and engaged in stone-pelting outside the institute.

CCTV footage circulating on social media reportedly captured the vandalism. Additional videos later emerged showing security personnel at the institute firing shots into the air during the disturbance.

Guards Detained, Claims Surface

Police subsequently detained two security guards employed at the coaching centre. During questioning, the guards admitted to firing from their licensed .315-bore rifles. Investigators said the guards claimed they fired two rounds each after receiving instructions and alleged that Khan Sir was present during the incident.

Based on the findings, police registered an FIR against Khan Sir and two others. The case includes charges related to attempt to murder as well as provisions under the Arms Act.

Rival Coaching Institutes Trade Allegations

The controversy has also intensified a dispute between competing coaching centres. After the incident, Khan Sir alleged that people associated with a rival institute were responsible for the attack on his premises.

Supporters of Roshan Anand, director of Gyan Bindu Coaching, rejected the allegation and instead accused authorities of protecting Khan Sir. They have warned of large-scale protests involving thousands of students if no action is taken.

Meanwhile, the court has reserved its decision on Anand’s bail plea, while arguments continue in related cases linked to the June 2 violence.
