Radhika Yadav Murder Case: Accused father sent on 24-hour police remand

The Gurugram Police presented the accused in Court No. 25 on Friday afternoon. Remand was sought for gathering evidence and detailed interrogation. However, the court has approved only one day’s remand.

Gurugram: The court has sent Deepak Yadav, the father of national level tennis player Radhika Yadav, who was arrested in Gurugram for shooting and killing her, on one-day police remand.

According to the Dynamite News correspondent, the Gurugram Police presented the accused in Court No. 25 on Friday afternoon. Remand was sought for gathering evidence and detailed interrogation. However, the court has approved only one day's remand.

She was shot from behind while cooking

This sensational incident that happened on Thursday has shaken the whole city. Police investigation has revealed that 25-year-old Radhika Yadav was cooking food in her two-storey house in Sushant Lok Phase-2, when her father shot her from behind. Police say that the accused used a .32 bore licensed pistol and fired more than five bullets. Due to which Radhika died on the spot. After the murder, the police arrested the accused father from the spot.

The family is originally from Wazirabad village

Radhika Yadav's family is originally from Wazirabad village. For the last few years, it was living in Sushant Lok Phase-2, Sector-57, Gurugram. Police officials said that the pistol used by Deepak Yadav was licensed and it has been taken into custody. Now the forensic team is investigating this weapon.

Police is gathering the real reason behind the murder

According to the information that has come out so far in the case, Deepak Yadav has cited social taunts and family tension as the reason for the murder in the initial interrogation. However, the police say that they are interrogating to get to the bottom of the real reason behind the murder. Old videos of Radhika going viral on social media and tension in family relations have also been brought under the scope of investigation.
