Delhi’s Shastri Park sees the fatal stabbing of Wasim, with Bishnoi gang claiming responsibility online. Links to gangster Hashim Baba surface, raising fresh fears over gang wars and public safety in the city’s streets.
New Delhi: The murder of 33-year-old Wasim in Shastri Park has intensified concerns over gang-related violence in Delhi. Following the stabbing incident, social media posts from the Bishnoi gang have added a new angle to the case, raising questions about public safety on the city’s streets.
The incident took place between the night of December 30 and 31, when Wasim was stabbed to death. Delhi Police quickly acted and arrested two brothers from Buland Masjid, Shakir and Islam alias Border, in connection with the killing.
Police investigations and confessions revealed that the murder stemmed from a long-standing personal feud between the victim and the accused.
Adding a sensational twist, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang took to social media claiming responsibility for Wasim’s murder. The gang alleged that Wasim had been publicly speaking against gangster Hashim Baba, who is currently lodged in Tihar Jail. They claimed this was the motive behind his killing, spreading shock and fear across social media.
This was not the first time Wasim was targeted. According to reports, he had survived four previous life-threatening attacks. In June, he was shot in the Welcome area but survived after prolonged treatment. During his hospitalization at GTB Hospital, assailants allegedly tried to target him again, resulting in the death of another person instead. Wasim had also faced two other shooting attempts prior to the fatal stabbing.
Despite surviving multiple attacks, Wasim could not escape fate this time, and his murder has sparked renewed concern about gang violence and law enforcement measures in Delhi.
