Patna: Just before the first phase of voting in the Bihar Assembly elections, a statement by Union Minister and senior JDU leader Lalan Singh has sparked a political uproar. During an election rally in Mokama, Lalan Singh said, "Let only those who vote for us leave their homes." This comment went viral on social media, prompting the Election Commission to issue a notice. An FIR has now been filed against him.
The RJD wrote in a social media post that Lalan Singh is blaming the Election Commission for the "bullying" and advising the poor not to leave their homes on voting day. He said that if anyone protests too much, they should be taken with them and allowed to cast their vote. The Congress also shared the video on Twitter, writing that Modi government minister Lalan Singh is saying that those who will vote against the BJP-JDU should not be allowed to leave their homes on election day.
