New Delhi: Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge reigned supreme at the box office for a considerable period, but a clear decline in its earnings is now evident. On its 33rd day of release—marking its fifth Monday—the film earned a mere ₹1.62 crore, a drop of approximately 69% compared to Sunday's earnings of ₹5.20 crore.

Total Collection Remains Robust

Despite the recent dip, the film's overall performance remains spectacular. Its net collection in India has reached ₹1,117.29 crore. Meanwhile, the film has garnered ₹421.50 crore in overseas markets. Consequently, the film's worldwide collection now stands at ₹1,758.96 crore, cementing its status as a blockbuster.

Why Do Earnings Dip After the Weekend?

The film certainly received a slight boost over the weekend, during which it earned approximately ₹12 crore. However, the decline has persisted during the weekdays:

Day 30: ₹2.70 crore

Day 31: ₹4.65 crore

Day 32: ₹5.20 crore

Day 33: ₹1.62 crore

This trend indicates that the film is now entering the final phase of its theatrical run.

‘Bhooth Bangla’ Emerges as the Biggest Challenger

Bhooth Bangla has hit the ground running, immediately beginning to dominate the box office. In its opening weekend alone, the film raked in nearly ₹58 crore.

Most notably, while Dhurandhar 2 fell below the ₹2 crore mark on Monday, Bhooth Bangla earned over ₹6 crore on the same day. This clearly demonstrates that audience preference is shifting toward the new release.

The IPL Factor

The Indian Premier League (IPL) has also had an impact on film earnings. Audiences are increasingly occupied with watching matches on their televisions and mobile devices rather than visiting movie theaters; this trend is particularly affecting the earnings of films that have been in theaters for some time.

The situation is now clear: the film has passed its peak performance phase. Amidst the influx of new content and fresh releases, older films gradually take a back seat—and the same is now happening with ‘Dhhurandhar 2’.
