New Delhi: Actor Ram Kapoor has sparked a debate on social media after saying that infidelity is "not a deal breaker" in a marriage if two people truly love each other. The remarks, made during an episode of the reality show Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa, drew criticism from several viewers, while fellow contestant Akanksha Chamola publicly disagreed with his perspective.
The discussion began when contestant Shreya Kalra asked Ram Kapoor how he would react if his partner cheated on him.
Responding to the question, Kapoor said marriages go through highs and lows and require constant effort. He added that if a couple genuinely loves each other and wants to keep the family together, even a mistake such as infidelity need not necessarily end the relationship.
Akanksha Chamola challenged Kapoor's remarks, saying that physical infidelity cannot happen "by mistake." She argued that cheating involves conscious decisions and should be viewed as a deliberate choice rather than an accident.
Her response received support from many viewers who felt her opinion reflected accountability in relationships.

Clips from the episode quickly circulated online, triggering mixed reactions. While some users agreed that long-term relationships deserve second chances, many criticised Kapoor for appearing to normalise infidelity. Several social media users praised Chamola for presenting an opposing viewpoint during the discussion.
Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa Season 2 features 15 contestants from the entertainment industry, including Ram Kapoor, Akanksha Chamola, Sunita Ahuja, Dheeraj Dhoopar, Harshad Chopra and Shivangi Joshi. The reality series is currently streaming on Netflix, with new episodes released from Saturday to Wednesday.
