Mumbai: Even as the debate around Manoj Bajpayee’s upcoming film Ghuskhor Pandit continues, another movie has landed in controversy. This time, the spotlight is on Yadav Ji Ki Love Story, a romantic-action drama that has triggered protests in Uttar Pradesh over its title and storyline.

With an FIR reportedly filed against the makers and cast, the film has become a flashpoint of social and political debate.

Yadav Community Protests, FIR Filed

Members of the Yadav community in Uttar Pradesh have staged protests, alleging that the film’s title and narrative portray their community in a negative light. Objections have also been raised over claims that the storyline promotes the concept of “love jihad.”

Following the backlash, a police FIR has reportedly been registered against the producer, director, and lead actors, intensifying the controversy just days before release.

What Is the Story About?

The plot of Yadav Ji Ki Love Story centers on a young woman caught between love and family pressure.

Simple Yadav, played by Pragati Tiwari, is portrayed as a soft-spoken, traditional woman.

She falls in love with Wasim Akhtar (played by Vishal Mohan).

Their interfaith relationship faces resistance due to religious differences.

Meanwhile, her family pressures her to marry Abhimanyu Yadav (played by Ankit Badana).

The film explores themes of love, societal pressure, political undertones, and emotional conflict, ultimately building a narrative around heartbreak and social tension.

Cast and Crew Details

According to listings on BookMyShow, the film is:

Directed by: Ankit Badana

Produced by: Sandeep Tomar

Lead Cast: Pragati Tiwari, Vishal Mohan, Ankit Badana, Suvinder Vicky, and Rajat Tanwar

Interestingly, critics have pointed out that none of the principal cast members belong to the Yadav community - a detail that has added fuel to the ongoing debate.

The film is scheduled for theatrical release on February 27. However, given the growing protests and legal developments, uncertainty looms over whether it will hit cinemas as planned.

As controversies continue to surround socially sensitive themes in cinema, Yadav Ji Ki Love Story has become the latest example of how film narratives can ignite real-world reactions even before release.
