According to reports, the bus was traveling from Rajbari to Dhaka and was carrying approximately 40 passengers. The accident occurred near Daulatdia Ferry Terminal No. 3 at around 5 p.m. on Wednesday. The bus was reportedly attempting to board a ferry when it collided with a utility ferry. The force of the impact caused the driver to lose control, and the bus plunged into the river.

Due to darkness, the rescue operation had to be temporarily halted. However, teams from the fire department, navy, police, and other agencies are jointly engaged in the rescue work. Officials said that the rescue operation will be resumed as soon as daybreak.
