‘Exit If Possible’: India Advises Citizens to Avoid Iran travel as Middle East Crisis Deepens

As tensions escalate in the Middle East, India has asked its citizens to avoid travelling to Iran and advised those already there to consider leaving using available commercial flights.

New Delhi: India has issued a fresh travel advisory urging its citizens to postpone all non-essential travel to Iran and advising those currently in the country to consider leaving using available commercial flight options as security conditions continue to deteriorate.

The advisory, issued by the Indian Embassy in Tehran, comes amid escalating hostilities in the Middle East following the collapse of the ceasefire between the United States and Iran.

Embassy Issues Fresh Advisory

In its latest statement, the Indian Embassy advised citizens not to travel to Iran until the security situation improves. Indians already in the country have been urged to exercise extreme caution, remain alert and register with the embassy if they have not already done so.

The mission also asked nationals to regularly monitor its official website and social media platforms for updates and follow instructions issued by local authorities.

Indians Asked to Avoid Sensitive Areas

The embassy advised Indian citizens to stay away from areas witnessing heightened military activity, particularly along Iran's southern coastline, and to remain informed about the evolving security situation.

Officials stressed the importance of maintaining situational awareness and complying with all local safety advisories.

Conflict Continues to Escalate

The advisory comes as tensions between the United States and Iran continue to intensify after the breakdown of last month's ceasefire agreement. Both sides have exchanged fresh military strikes in recent days, raising fears of a wider regional conflict.

The situation worsened after an Iranian attack in Jordan killed two US service members, prompting Washington to warn of further military action. Iran has also announced that it will target US military facilities across the region, while Israel has said it intercepted an Iranian missile and warned of a strong response to any attack.
