New Delhi: In Pakistan, the army forcibly suppresses any protests that erupt. However, this time, the anger of Gen Z is rising in the neighboring country.

The reason is an article published in the US, which was later deleted. The article was written by a Pakistani student and has fanned the flames of discontent among Gen Z, which had been simmering for years.

Zorain Nizamani, a Pakistani student pursuing a PhD in the US, had an article published in the Pakistani newspaper 'The Express Tribune' on January 1st, titled "Everything is Over." The article was later removed due to pressure from the Pakistani army.

The uproar in Pakistan over Zorain's article
Zorain Nizamani is pursuing a PhD in Criminology from the University of Arkansas in the US. In his article, he wrote, "The game is over for all the older people in power in Pakistan.

The younger generation is not falling for your tricks. You can hold as many seminars as you want in schools and colleges, but you cannot instill patriotism in the youth."

Zorain targets the Pakistani army
Targeting the Pakistani army, Zorain said, "The youth are well aware that they cannot challenge those in power. Therefore, they quietly leave the country without saying anything and never look back. Many of my friends tried to raise their voices, but they were silenced."

PTI raises questions
The deletion of Zorain's article has also been questioned by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), the party of former Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Pakistani activist Mahalka Samdani also sarcastically wrote, "It wouldn't be surprising if this article is removed by Express Tribune. Zorain isn't saying anything."

Voices of protest rising in the neighboring country
Former Pakistani Prime Minister Moonis Elahi wrote, "A reality check for the policy-making generation." Pakistani lawyer Abdul Moez wrote, "This is a truly brilliant article, one that resonates with every young Pakistani."

The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan also objected to the article's removal. They stated, "The removal of Zohrain Nizami's article is proof that freedom of expression is under threat in Pakistan."
