Tehran: At least 21 people have been killed and 34 others injured after a bus overturned in southern Iran. This was reported by Iranian state media on Saturday. The accident occurred south of Shiraz, the capital of Fars province. The head of the emergency organization Masoud Abed in Fars province said that the accident took place at 11:05 am. The rescue team reached the spot as soon as the accident was reported.
How This Accident Occurred
According to preliminary information, a passenger bus that was heading towards Shiraz overturned uncontrollably. The bus was crowded with passengers. The accident took place when the driver lost control of the bus and it fell into a roadside ditch. As soon as information recieved, ambulances and fire engines were rushed to the spot and begins the rescue operation. The injured were immediately taken to nearby hospitals.

He said the rescue and relief operations are still underway and the exact figure and other details will be known only after the investigation is completed.

The cause of the accident has not yet been determined, but officials say the investigation is ongoing. At present, it is believed that the accident could be caused by the negligence of the driver or a malfunction in the vehicle.
