China invested billions of dollars in Venezuelan oil and energy sector. It was trying to expand its foot print area in Latin America through its Belt and Road Initiative. China was the largest crude oil importer of Venezuela. He said that, the United States of America will come to their rescue if required. It is not clear how US would intervene in Iran but it has created tension between the two countries.
