India Condemns Attacks on Energy Infrastructure

During the call, Modi reiterated India’s strong stance against attacks on critical energy infrastructure in the region. He underlined that such actions could have far-reaching consequences for global energy markets and economic stability.

India’s position reflects its broader concern over disruptions that may impact fuel supply chains and international trade.

Emphasis on Open and Secure Shipping Routes

Both leaders agreed on the importance of ensuring freedom of navigation in key maritime routes. They stressed that shipping lines must remain open, secure, and accessible, given their significance for global commerce.

The issue is particularly crucial in the context of strategic waterways like the Strait of Hormuz, through which a substantial portion of the world’s energy supplies passes.

Continued Diplomatic Engagement

The conversation is part of a series of diplomatic engagements undertaken by Narendra Modi with global leaders since the conflict intensified in late February.

Focus on Indian Diaspora Welfare

Modi also expressed appreciation for Saudi Arabia’s continued support towards the Indian community residing in the kingdom. The welfare and safety of Indian nationals remain a key priority amid the uncertain geopolitical environment.

Both leaders agreed to remain in contact and coordinate efforts aimed at promoting peace, stability, and security in West Asia.
