Kathmandu: A devastating flood disaster in Nepal has raised serious concerns over the safety of Indian pilgrims travelling through the Himalayan region. Several areas have been severely damaged after flash floods swept through parts of the country, leaving thousands of people missing and many families waiting anxiously for updates.

Nepal Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal described the situation as one of the country's worst disasters in recent years, saying that several towns were destroyed within hours due to the sudden flood fury.

Indian Nationals Among Missing People

The biggest concern for India is the safety of pilgrims who were travelling through flood-affected areas. Nepal's Foreign Minister said that nearly 300 Indian nationals, mostly pilgrims travelling towards the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra route, have been reported missing.

Authorities are working to establish contact with the missing groups as communication networks in several affected regions remain disrupted.

Rescue Operations In Full Swing

Nepal authorities have launched emergency rescue operations to locate stranded people and provide immediate relief. Security forces and local agencies are working in difficult weather conditions to reach affected areas.

The Nepal government is also coordinating with foreign embassies to collect information about missing foreign nationals.

Families Across India Await Updates

The disappearance of pilgrims has created fear and uncertainty among families waiting for news from their loved ones. With limited connectivity from disaster-hit areas, relatives are struggling to get confirmed information.

Officials have assured that efforts are underway to trace every missing person and ensure their safe return.

India Extends Support To Nepal

Nepal's Foreign Minister thanked India for quickly providing relief assistance after the disaster. The Indian government has assured continued support for rescue and humanitarian operations.

The focus currently remains on saving lives, providing emergency aid and helping affected communities recover from the massive flood devastation.
