SSP Pokhrel said the death toll from this disaster may rise. Damage assessments are currently underway. He added that so far, they only have preliminary details of the damage and losses.

All three levels of security agencies (including the Nepal Army, Armed Police Force, and Nepal Police) have been deployed in the affected areas. Heavy rain warnings have been issued, with further rainfall forecast. Meanwhile, rivers are in spate and have been deployed to evacuate residents from floodplains in the Kathmandu Valley.
Search Operations Continue Along the Rivers
Security agencies launched a search operation on Saturday in settlements along all major rivers flowing through the valley. They conducted door-to-door searches, assisted residents in evacuating and transporting their belongings to safer locations.

Water Levels Likely to Rise in These Rivers
Nepal's Hydrology and Meteorology Department has reported rising water levels in the Bagmati, Hanumante, Manohara, Dhobi Khola, Bishnumati, Nakkhu, and Balkhu rivers. Officials have warned that floodwaters could reach roadside areas and enter settlements. Residents and motorists have been urged to avoid travelling along the river due to the risk of flooding.
