Kyiv: The ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine has once again taken a dangerous turn. Last Sunday, Russia carried out a major attack with drones and missiles on many cities, including Ukraine's capital, Kyiv, in which so far two people have died and more than 17 people have been injured. This attack has once again created an atmosphere of fear and resentment among Ukrainian citizens.
During the attack, a missile fell on a residential building in the Sviatoshinsky district of Kyiv. According to eyewitnesses, a woman and her newborn child were killed in this explosion. 10 apartments, a school, and businesses were affected in Kryvyi Rih. Civil infrastructure was damaged in Odessa. Industrial workshops were attacked in Zaporizhia. Private houses and an administrative building were damaged in Poltava.
After this attack, the possibility of peace talks between Russia and Ukraine has become even more bleak. Russian President Vladimir Putin had proposed to meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Moscow, which Zelensky rejected outright.
He clearly said, "When my country is being destroyed by missiles every day, I will not go to the capital of terrorists (Moscow)."
Donald Trump likely to meet Xi Jinping to reshape global diplomacy
In the Russia-Ukraine war, once again the incidents of targeting civilian areas are increasing. The attack in the central part of a city like Kyiv is an indication that Russia's strategy is now changing. At the same time, there is no hope of peace talks, due to which this conflict may drag on for longer.
In this situation, the common citizens are suffering the most, who are forced to live every day in the shadow of uncertainty, death, and fear.
