Mumbai: Maharashtra is set to introduce basic military training for students beginning from Class 1, State School Education Minister Dada Bhuse announced on Tuesday, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

The initiative aims to cultivate patriotism, discipline, and a culture of physical fitness among young learners.

School Educational Minister Bhuse stated that retired soldiers would play a key role in delivering training, alongside sports teachers, members of the National Cadet Corps (NCC), and Scouts and Guides.

“This decision is intended to nurture love for the country and instill habits of regular exercises and discipline, which will benefit students throughout their lives,” said the Minister.

The proposal has received an encouraging response from Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. To ensure effective implementation, the state plans to involve approximately 2.5 lakh ex-servicemen in addition to existing school sports and youth organizations.

The initiative marks a unique step in integrating structured physical and values-based education into the school curriculum across Maharashtra.

Military Training In Schools: Objectives

The initiative of Maharashta Government of introducing Military Training from class 1 onwards in all schools across the state is a well-thought step which is being lauded by all quarters.

State Education Minister Bhuse's announcement that retired soldiers, members of the National Cadet Corps (NCC), Scouts and Guides and sports teachers would be engaged for this training pograme must be appreiciated by one and all.

Highlighting the opjectives of this Military Training to students Bhuse said that this Training will further develop the feeling of patriotism and love for the country.

Besides, the Education Minister said that it will also instill habits of regular exercises and discipline among students.

Developing Patriotism: To further develop love and pride for the country in young minds is the most primary objective of the training.

Instilling Discipline: To instill the habbits of discipline and a regulated life among students so that they may lead their life successfully.

Physical Fitness: The next objective is to make the students aware of the importance of physical fitness so that they can develop the habit of regular physical exercise to lead a healthy lifestyle right from childhood.

Sense Of Responsibility: To develop a feeling of responsibility among students so that right form beginning they can value first their duties and only after that their rights.
