Kerala, Assam, Puducherry See Healthy Voter Participation Early in Elections
New Delhi: According to the latest Election Commission data, nearly 17 percent voter turnout has been recorded in the first two hours of assembly elections in three states. Voters are seeing strong voter participation in the voting process.
According to the Voter Turnout App, Assam recorded the highest voter turnout at 17.87 percent. Long queues were seen at polling stations since morning, and people enthusiastically cast their votes.
Early voter turnout strong in Phase 1 polls

Puducherry has recorded 17.41 percent voter turnout so far, while Kerala has recorded 16.23 percent. Voting is continuing peacefully in both areas.
Voting will continue from 7 am to 5 pm in all three states. Voters are casting their votes in 140 assembly seats in Kerala, 126 in Assam, and 30 in Puducherry.
In Kerala, a total of 27.1 million voters will decide the fate of 883 candidates. These include 13.2 million men, 13.9 million women, and 273 transgender voters. In Assam, 25 million voters are exercising their franchise at 31,490 polling stations. Counting of votes in all three states will take place on May 4.
In Kerala, the main contest is between the ruling CPI(M)-led LDF, the Congress-led UDF, and the BJP-led NDA. Meanwhile, in the Union Territory of Puducherry, voting is taking place amid tight security arrangements. There are 294 candidates in the fray, and the contest is believed to be between the NDA and the India alliance.
