New Delhi: Security agencies across the country are on alert following the car bombing near the Red Fort in the national capital, Delhi. Home Minister Amit Shah convened a high-level meeting at his private residence on Thursday morning, attended by several top intelligence and security officials.
The meeting not only reviewed the investigation into the blast but also issued instructions to further strengthen security across the country.

The meeting was attended by several senior officials, including the Director General of the NIA (National Investigation Agency), the Director of the Intelligence Bureau (IB), the Home Secretary, and the Delhi Police Commissioner.
During the meeting, officials informed the Home Minister that security has been beefed up in Delhi and other major cities across the country.
Amit Shah gave clear instructions to officials to ensure strict surveillance and security checks in all sensitive areas, religious sites, historical monuments, and crowded places.

However, given the serious situation following the Red Fort blast, he has cancelled this visit. According to BJP officials, Shah is now monitoring the situation in Delhi and is likely to attend events in Gujarat via video conferencing.
In addition, Shah was also invited to an event at the Dudhsagar Dairy in Mehsana, but he will no longer attend that event.
On Monday evening, a car bomb exploded near the Red Fort complex in Delhi, killing at least 12 people and injuring several others.
Immediately after the incident, Amit Shah visited the site and ordered security agencies to complete the investigation expeditiously.
Subsequently, on Tuesday, Shah held two separate security review meetings, in which senior officials from the Delhi Police, NIA, and IB presented detailed reports.
Amit Shah has instructed officials that no negligence will be tolerated. He said that maximum use of technology and intelligence networks should be made to prevent any terrorist activity in a sensitive city like Delhi.
The Home Ministry has also issued instructions to states to remain vigilant and increase security patrols at public places. The Red Fort blast incident has shaken security agencies not only in Delhi but across the country.
