Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran has expressed deep condolences. He announced that Tata Group will provide financial assistance of Rs 1 crore to the family of each person who lost his life in this tragedy. Along with this, the company will bear the entire cost of treatment of all the injured and they will be provided with all necessary care and support.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah reached the Ahmedabad plane crash site. Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu and Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghvi are also with him.
At least 204 people have died in the Air India plane crash that took place in Ahmedabad today while 41 are injured. According to the police, the chances of survival of those under treatment are very low.
Several injured have been identified so far after the Ahmedabad plane crash. The list of passengers and local people who were brought to the hospital in a seriously injured condition during relief and rescue operations is being prepared by the administration.
Police Commissioner GS Malik said, "It seems that no one survived in the plane crash accident." He said that since the plane crashed in a residential area, some local people may have also have died.
Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel reached Asarwa Civil Hospital in Ahmedabad, where the injured people have been brought.
Ahmedabad Airport has been reopened. After the plane crash, flights were stopped for some time as a precaution, but now after checking the runway and other technical arrangements, the airport has been opened for operations again. Officials said that passenger facilities and flight services are continuing normally, and all safety standards are being followed.

After the plane crash in Ahmedabad, Air India has blacked out its social media handles.
Air India has released a dedicated passenger helpline number 1800 5691 444 to get more information about the Ahmedabad plane crash.
According to Air India, the flight, which departed from Ahmedabad at 1338 hrs, was carrying 242 passengers and crew members on board the Boeing 787-8 aircraft. Out of these, 169 are Indian nationals, 53 are British nationals, 1 Canadian national and 7 Portuguese nationals.
"According to initial information, the Air India plane was going to London has crashed into the doctors' hostel. Police and other agencies reached the spot within 2-3 minutes. About 70-80 percent of the area has been cleared. All agencies are working here," senior police officer said.
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel expressed grief and said, 'I am saddened by the crash of an Air India passenger plane in Ahmedabad... I have instructed the officials to immediately carry out rescue and relief operations as well as immediate treatment of the injured passengers on a war basis. The CM has also instructed to ensure the arrangement of green corridors to deliver the injured passengers for treatment and ensure all treatment arrangements in the hospital.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi discussed the Air India plane crash incident with Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu. The minister has directed that all necessary relief material be made available and regular updates be provided on the situation.

According to CISF, after taking off, the plane collided with a building in a residential area of the city and then a huge fire broke out in it.
