Amazon launches 10-minute delivery service
New Delhi: Online shopping platform Amazon has now expanded its ultra-fast delivery service 'Amazon Now' to Mumbai. Earlier this service was launched in Delhi and Bengaluru, where it received a very encouraging response from the customers. Now Mumbai customers will also be able to order everyday essential items, be it grocery, personal care products, electronic accessories or festival related items in just 10 minutes.
According to the company, after the launch of Amazon Now, order volume has been registering a consistent growth of 25% month-on-month. The special thing is that Prime members have increased their shopping frequency by three times after using this service.
To provide faster delivery, Amazon has so far started more than 100 micro-fulfillment centers in Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai. These are small but high-tech warehouses, which have been set up close to the customers to reduce the delivery time to 10 minutes. The company says that hundreds more centers will be opened by the end of the year.

Amazon India VP and Country Manager Sameer Kumar said, "We launched Amazon Now in Bangalore earlier this year. Customer response has far exceeded our expectations. Daily orders are growing at a rate of 25% and Prime members are now shopping three times more often than before."
He further said, "We have started more than 100 micro-fulfillment centers and are going to add hundreds more soon. Through this strong operations infrastructure, we are giving customers a faster and convenient shopping experience in the festive season."
The company has announced that Amazon Great Indian Festival 2025 will start from 23 September. Prime members will get exclusive access to deals 24 hours in advance i.e. from the night of 22 September.
