Bihar SIR: Over 98% electors submit their documents to ECI so far

The exercise of documents collection with the help of Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and volunteers is still going on and it is expected that the work of the collection of documents will be over before time.

New Delhi: As many as 98.2 per cent of electors in Bihar have submitted their documents, said Election Commission of India (ECI) on Sunday. Only eight days are left in the Claims, Objections and Documents period of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll in the State, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

In a press release the ECI said that as per information received from the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Bihar, from 24 June to 24 August in 60 days, 98.2 per cent of persons have submitted their documents. There are still eight days left till 1 September for submission of the documents for just 1.8 per cent remaining electors.
