Revised Order of Direction 89 will be issued soon
CAQM will soon notify the new amendment of Direction 89, which will have detailed details of the revised date and rules. According to officials, the purpose of this change is to give enough time to vehicle owners so that they can make alternative arrangements or get their vehicles scrapped.
Strict rules on old vehicles are already applicable in Delhi
Delhi already has a ban on running diesel vehicles older than 10 years and petrol vehicles older than 15 years. Many times such vehicles have also been confiscated. Now under the new instructions, they will not even get fuel, due to which they will automatically go off the road.
Big step taken for pollution control
This decision of CAQM is being considered a big and decisive step towards air pollution control. In view of the increasing pollution in Delhi-NCR during winters, this decision has been taken so that pollution caused by stubble burning, vehicle smoke and construction work can be controlled.
