Hansi (Hisar): Chief Justice of India Justice Surya Kant arrived in Hansi on Saturday, where he was accorded a grand and historic welcome by the Hansi Bar Association at the court complex.
The atmosphere was festive as traditional music, including pipe bands and bagpipers, greeted the Chief Justice from the main gate to the venue.
Justice Surya Kant’s helicopter landed at a specially constructed helipad at Shri Krishna Pranami School in Hansi. From there, he proceeded to the Hansi court complex amid tight security arrangements. The district administration and police remained on high alert, with extensive security deployed in and around the premises. Every entrant was thoroughly screened, and Z-category security was provided at the Chief Justice’s stage.

Several judges from the Punjab and Haryana High Court, Chandigarh, accompanied Justice Surya Kant, along with judges from the Sessions Court and Sub-Divisional Court.
The visit holds special significance as it marks Justice Surya Kant’s first visit to Hisar district after assuming office as the Chief Justice of India. During the programme, he is expected to address the advocates and share his views on key aspects of the judicial system, including the role of the judiciary, responsibilities of lawyers, and ensuring access to justice for the common citizen.
Justice Surya Kant will stay overnight in Hisar. On Sunday, he is scheduled to inaugurate the newly constructed court complex in Narnaund, a project aimed at improving judicial infrastructure and accessibility in the region. The inauguration ceremony will be attended by judicial officers, administrative officials, and elected representatives.
In addition, the Chief Justice will visit his ancestral village, Petwar, where special preparations have been made to welcome him. The visit has generated considerable enthusiasm among villagers and is being viewed as a moment of pride for the region.
Overall, the Chief Justice’s visit has emerged as a historic and inspiring occasion for Hisar district, energising the legal fraternity and leaving a lasting impression on the local community.
