Laying the foundation for modern justice in UP
New Delhi: Chief Justice of India (CJI) Justice Surya Kant on Saturday laid the foundation stone and performed Bhoomi Pujan for Integrated Court Complexes in six districts of Uttar Pradesh — Chandauli, Mahoba, Amethi, Shamli, Hathras, and Auraiya. The initiative marks a significant step toward strengthening judicial infrastructure and improving access to justice in the state.
According to Dynamite News sources, the concept of integrated court complexes was earlier highlighted by Justice Surya Kant during an event in Prayagraj, where he emphasized that court facilities should be modern, unified, and citizen-friendly. Acting on this vision, the Uttar Pradesh government initiated the process to develop integrated court complexes across the state.

With coordinated efforts between the judiciary and the state government, approval was granted for integrated court complexes in 10 districts of Uttar Pradesh that earlier lacked dedicated district court infrastructure.
The integrated court complexes are expected to house multiple courts, judicial offices, and essential legal services under one roof. This will not only reduce logistical challenges for litigants and lawyers but also enhance efficiency in judicial proceedings, particularly in districts with limited infrastructure.
The foundation stone ceremony was attended by several senior judges and dignitaries, including Supreme Court Justices Rajesh Bindal, Vikram Nath, Pankaj Mithal, Manoj Mishra, and Justice Arun Bhansali, Chief Justice of the Allahabad High Court.

Senior High Court Judge Mahesh Chandra Tripathi and other judicial officers were also present, underscoring the importance of the initiative.
The project reflects a broader commitment to judicial reforms and infrastructure development in Uttar Pradesh. By ensuring better facilities and accessibility, the integrated court complexes aim to strengthen public trust in the justice delivery system and support the vision of timely and effective justice.
