Pune: The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), founded by youth activist Abhijeet Dipke, on Thursday unveiled a five-point “exam manifesto” during an agitation held at Savitribai Phule Pune University, highlighting concerns over repeated examination controversies.

The group also intensified its attack on the Centre, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, accusing the government of failing to ensure accountability in issues related to major competitive exams such as NEET, CBSE, and CUET.

‘Over One Crore Students Affected’: Protesters Allege Injustice

Addressing the gathering, Dipke said the movement’s central demand remains the resignation of the education minister.

“Our only demand since the inception of this movement has been the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan. More than one crore students have faced injustice, but nobody is ready to take responsibility or step down,” he said.

He also warned that protesters would march to Delhi and stage a demonstration at Jantar Mantar on June 20 if the minister does not resign.

Five-Point Exam Reform Charter Released

As part of the agitation, CJP released a five-point “exam manifesto” aimed at addressing grievances of students affected by exam disruptions.

The proposals include:

  • ₹10,000 compensation for students affected by paper leaks, postponed exams, or delayed results
  • Declaration of results within one month of examinations
  • Conduct of backup examinations within 72 hours of cancellations
  • Age relaxation for affected candidates
  • Mandatory audits of computer-based testing systems and merit-based allocation of exam contracts

Growing Student Discontent Over Exam System

The organisation said the manifesto is intended to push for systemic reforms in India’s examination structure amid recurring allegations of irregularities and delays.
